AN All Progressives Congress (APC) socio-political group in Ondo State, the Unity Mandate Agenda, has opposed the reported endorsement of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu by the National Chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
It said reported comments of Oshiomhole looked like an easy ride to another term in office for Akeredolu and the adverse impact on the resolve of the Unity Forum to have a change within the APC for the leadership of the state.
The National Coordinator of the group, Comrade Babatope Abisola, in a statement issued in Akure, alleged that Akeredolu used N850million to bribe the National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC.
He said Oshiomhole and the NWC have not denied the bribery allegation.
Abisola accused Senator Ajayi Boroffice of creating the template of crisis in order for him to either allow Akeredolu go for another term or to install a puppet governor.
APC has said it will abide by the decision of the National Working Committee (NWC) on the mode of primaries to be used to elect its governorship candidate.
The Chairman, Mr. Ade Adetimehin, spoke while receiving some defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo West Local Government.
The former PDP members were led by the 2019 House of Assembly candidate for Ondo West Constituency II, Mr. Abiola Oladapo.
