The communities that have been experiencing poor supply or outage are Eputu, Oribanwa, Lakuwe.
Some electricity consumers, who spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), expressed disappointment that Eko Electricity Distribution Company(EKEDC) had failed to intervene.
Mr Joseph Atanda, a community leader in Eputu, said life had become unbearable since the area had been thrown into darkness for more than two months.
Describing the situation as disappointing, Atanda said economic activities had been grounded without a solution in sight.
“Poor electricity supply here is frustrating because in the past two months we have not had one hour of power supply.
“We have approached EKEDC management on this, but they have not given the community reasonable explanation concerning the outage.
“Some residents have been forced to relocate to other areas because of irregular power supply.
“We are appealing to the management of EKEDC to restore power to our community because we do not have anywhere to relocate to as landlords,” he said.
Mrs Folorunso Adegbite, a frozen foods seller in Oribanwa community, lamented that she had been running her business at a loss as a lot of money had been spent on fuel to power the generator.
“I spend close to N100,000 monthly to buy petrol to power my generator with little or no gain.
“The electricity company should address the problem as some communities in Ibeju Lekki are enjoying regular power supply.”
Also speaking, Mr Julius Adepoju, another landlord in Lakuwe, said an official of EKEDC claimed that fault was from the cable supplying the community.
“I wonder why cable fault will take so long to repair or replace.”
He called on EKEDC to find an urgent solution to the problem.
Contacted, Mr Godwin Idemudia, the General Manager, Corporate Communications of EKEDC, claimed that the fault had been cleared and electricity restored in the area.
“Our engineers have completed the repair of the feeder supplying electricity to the area; supply has been restored.
“The situation is not as bad as painted by the consumers,” he said.
