Salis takes campaign to grassroots, pledges good governance

The Governorship candidate of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) ,Chief Owolabi Salis on Tuesday, took his campaign to Alimosho area of the state, seeking support of the electorate in the forthcoming general election.
Salis,while speaking with a cross section of traditionalists, said it was high time residents set themselves free from being “enslaved by the current administration”.
He pledged that his administration would run an all inclusive government which would cover all grassroots in the state .
Salis restated that all the basic social amenities such as road of local governments and local council, standard hospital, pipe borne water as well as free education and vocational training for the youths wil top his agenda .
He urged every one to get their PVCs, votes for all candidates of Alliance for democracy come the election day .
Salis urged the electorate to not only vote but defend their votes, to put an end to election buying by political godfathers who amight want to rig during the election.
The governorship candidate was endorsed by the South West association of traditionalists ,Alimosho ,saying that they are solidly behind him ,adding that their votes are for the man whom they described as their Messiah.
Meanwhile, at a meeting with some artisans in the area , Salis advised the youths to resist being used as political thugs.
“Some politicians have taken advantage of various youth groups by arming them and using them as thugs,” Salis said.
He described that as unfair and a form of “systemic slavery”, whereby the youth did not realise their true potential.
Salis said that youths should rather be engaged positively by educating and providing jobs for them, to advance their social and economic lives.
