“mysterious” Rain Disrupted Alamieyeseigha’s Burial Yesterday

Eyewitness dub the late Alamieyeseigha as the rain man

– Ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, amongst many other dignitaries, gets soaked after an unexpected rain took centre stage at the funeral ceremony of late Alamieyeseigha

The late Diepreye Alamieyeseigha has been buried in his hometown Amassoma, Southern Ijaw local government area in Bayelsa state, amid heavy rainfall.
NAIJ.com can report that the deceased was buried after a commendation service by the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) on Saturday, April 9.

However, the funeral ceremony which was graced by top dignitaries which included ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, his wife amongst others, was disrupted as a result of an unanticipated heavy down pour.

The funeral ceremony had to be quickly rushed so as the corpse of the late ex-governor could betransferred to the venue for his interment.

Just like eyewitnesses and pressmen, dignitaries had a fair share of the downpour as they always drenched in the rain.

Eye witnesses who assembled at Amassoma to pay their tribute to the late Alamieyeseigha had to run helter-skelter to seek refuge from the rains, which was unrelenting.

Speaking after the funeral ceremony, one of the eye witnesses at the ceremony told NAIJ.com on the condition of anonymity: “The rain didn’t help matters, but I have always known Alamieyeseigha to be the rain man.

“I can remember when he was presented to us as our first civilian governor in 1999; he was addressing the people and prayed that peace be restored back to our lands. That was the period when there was crisis in Bayelsa. When Late Alamieyeseigha raised a matchet, signifying the end of the crisis, a heavy rain all of sudden began. It was surprising to see but he has always been the rain man and we will miss him.”
