An Amazon customer has revealed her bafflement at a huge cardboard box she received from the company - containing just one small rosette.
Catrina Farnell took delivery of the parcel on Sunday but it could not be delivered through her letterbox because it was too big.
The disabled West Yorkshire resident who often has to use a wheelchair could not even get to the door in time and the package was then handed over to a neighbour.
The situation forced the 28-year-old, who lives in Steeton, to visit her neighbour and struggle back to her house with the oversized package.
To her disbelief, the Amazon delivery only contained a single "Dad to be" rosette with a large amount of unnecessary packaging inside, meaning it could have easily been posted through the letterbox.
"It has happened before, several times, and not only with Amazon," said Miss Farnell, a former dancer and teaching assistant.
"With not being able to get out of the house much, I have to order birthday gifts and in this case baby shower gifts. One order came in four parcels. This particular packaging was just so ridiculous that I felt I had to say something.
"Not only because I am concerned about the impact this kind of incident will have on the environment, but potentially this parcel could have gone back to the delivery office and people with mobility issues would have such a hard time retrieving it."
Miss Farnell, who suffers from several spinal issues including Cauda Equina Syndrome and suffering a stenosis of the spinal canallast year, was waiting for the rosette to give as a present to a friend who is becoming a dad.
The dance studies graduate was studying at university working towards becoming a special needs teacher before problems started with her back.
Because of her disability, it is a struggle for her to even leave the house without her carer and mother Margaret, 70.
So shocked by Amazon's "ridiculous" package, Miss Farnell took to Facebook to point out the issue on Amazon's official page.
Miss Farnell's main concern on receiving the package was the large amount of packaging used for such a small sized item.
Other than a comment asking her to submit her feedback , which she filled out, she is yet to hear from the company.
Miss Farnell added: "I didn't think it would get any replies from other people, then I saw others had similar experiences, which shows this is a larger issue that needs to be addressed.
"My mum has struggled with such packages before, then when you realise it would have fit through the door. It's disheartening and doesn't seem like good business sense either. I feel that a global company like Amazon has a responsibility to be as ecologically friendly as possible.
"When they repeatedly send things with an inappropriate amount of wrapping, it is actively going against that.
"They have to think about their consumers and try to make their items as easy as possible to receive.
"Sending things that could fit through a letterbox in larger packaging prohibits those who struggle with mobility from getting their packages at the same time as others. This then causes a great inconvenience for those who are housebound, ill or struggle with mobility."
Amazon has been contacted over the incident but has yet to respond.
